About Blue Canyon Country Club, Lakes Course

Blue Canyon Country Club is set on 730 acres of land, in a secluded valley overlooking Phuket's famous hills.

Although the Blue Canyon Country Club’s Canyon Course is the more famous, the Lakes Course is definitely on par, since it underwent a total renovation and further upgrading in 2006. Designed by renowned architect Yoshikazu Kato, the course features his trademark design philosophy of harnessing the natural landscapes and habitats.

As its name suggests, water features heavily on the Lakes Course, with no less than 17 of its 18 holes incorporating striking semi-natural water features carved into the landscape. The front nine runs through a landscape of lakes and natural canyons, while the back nine weaves its way around stands of rubber trees. When playing the Lakes Course, driving it in the fairway is essential to have any chance of scoring well. Many of the approach shots are over small creeks or canyons, that run across the fairways and getting to the greens in regulation is only possible from a good lie.

This course offers a very different game to its sister Canyon Course, but is every bit as challenging and rewarding.

The 18th hole is a par 4 with a remarkable finish, being voted by Asian Golf Monthly in 2003 as 'Best Par Four in Asia'. It is only reachable in two by long hitters. Most Phuket golf visitors are better advised to play their second shots well short of the green and away from the jungle, growing out of the open canyon fronting the green.

Blue Canyon has indoor and outdoor driving ranges and four practice putting greens, two for each course. Locker room services include sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and a variety of massages.
