About Laguna Golf Phuket

Laguna Golf Phuket is an 18-hole, par-71 golf course set within the expansive Laguna Phuket Resort complex. The course was revamped and revitalized by architect Paul Jansen in 2014 and reopened in January 2015 to great acclaim. If there’s an award, Laguna Golf Phuket has won it. It was named “Thailand’s Best Golf Course” for two consecutive years, “Asia’s Best Golf Course” by World Golf Awards, “Best Renovated Course of the Year”, “Top 10 Best Course in Thailand”, “Top 10 Best Maintained Course in Asia Pacific” (Asian Golf Awards), and “Best Golf Resort in Thailand” (Golf Digest Editors’ Choice Awards).

Since its redesign, the course features a wealth of scenic lagoons, coconut groves and undulating fairways. The front 9 feature lush tropical foliage, while the back holes are characterised by coconut groves and sand bunkers. The course layout focuses the golfer on position and strategy from the tee, with well-placed bunkers and water hazards to consider. The wide fairways are seemingly straightforward, but golfers still need to position their ball to have good scoring opportunities. Both nines take advantage of large overhanging trees, which influence play and frame most of the holes. The USGA specification greens provide superb quality playing surfaces year-round, with well-designed contouring and run-off areas that offer a wealth of shot options. 

The finishing two holes are the most challenging; the monster 612 yard 17th, requiring play at least twice over water; and the beautiful par-4 18th hole, where a well-struck shot give a chance for a finishing birdie.

Extensive practice facilities include dedicated swing rooms with Trackman video analysis, a well-stocked Pro-shop, club repair workshop, public hitting spaces, short-game area, as well as a purpose-built fitness studio.
